The Hartford Names Mark Shults To Lead Middle Market Central Division Field Sales And Underwriting

The Hartfordhas appointed Mark Shults division executive for The Hartford’s Central Division, reporting to Tracey Ant, senior vice president of Middle Market Field Sales and Execution. In this role, Shults will lead The Hartford’s Middle Market sales and underwriting operations for the company’s independent agents, brokers and their customers in the central part of the United States, including Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Kansas City. 

“Solid relationships with our distribution partners are crucial to helping us execute on our strategy to profitably grow our business and provide tailored insurance solutions for midsize business clients,” said Ant. “Mark has a strong history of driving company underwriting initiatives and sales strategies with agent and broker partners, and I am confident he will help us deepen our distribution relationships while focusing on local market execution.”

Shults joins The Hartford from Zurich, where he served most recently as national broker relationship leader. His prior roles at Zurich include regional executive for the South region in Atlanta and area executive in Houston. Previously, Shults held leadership positions at McGriff, Seibels & Williams, Inc.; Willis, AIG and Assurant Group.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
