    100 Best Corporate Citizens ranks the entire Russell 1000 Index on 134 (98 factors and 36 subfactors) ESG factors. To compile the ranking, information is obtained from publicly available resources only, rather than questionnaires or company submissions. There are seven pillars in the ranking: climate change, employee relations, environment, financial, governance, human rights and stakeholders and society.

    A valuable resource for veterans – and a coveted honor for companies around the country – the annual Military Times Best for Vets rankings are the result of a meticulous, months-long process. In their tenth year, the rankings evaluate companies’ culture, veteran recruiting, veteran policies, and accommodations for members of the National Guard and reserves.

    The Hartford has received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2019 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This marks the 11th year The Hartford has received this recognition.

    For the sixth year, FlexJobs announced the top 100 companies with remote jobs, ranking The Hartford No. 78. Through an analysis of the flexible job posting histories of the more than 51,000 companies in the FlexJobs database, they have pinpointed the companies that offered more remote-friendly positions than any others.

    The Hartford has been named to the 2019 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the fourth consecutive year. The Hartford is one of 230 companies commended this year and was included in the inaugural index in 2016.

    Since 2011, the Center for Political Accountability (CPA) and the Zicklin Center for Business Ethics has published an annual CPA-Zicklin Index of Corporate Political Disclosure and Accountability.  In their 2018 report, The Hartford was recognized as a top tier company and trendsetter.
